New Country Music Releases

As the month of May approaches keep the look out for some great country music releases! The highly anticipated Carrie Underwood will be releasing her fourth studio album called “Blown Away”. This album consists of her new single “Good Girl” which has been available to country music lovers for a couple months now! As you all know, Carrie Underwood won American Idol back in 2005 where she also became the first country music artist to win. I can’t wait for May 1^st to get her new album. Also, new albums release by Colt Ford “Declaration of Independence” and the legend Willie Nelson “Heroes”. Colt Ford is an up and coming artist who raps a little with his country music, so I’m curious to see what he has on his new album. Keep an eye out for new releases by Pat Green “Songs We Wish We’d Written II” and Chris Cagle “Back in the Saddle” as well. Chris Cagle hasn’t released a studio album in four years, so I am expecting some great songs off this new album. This album consists of his new single “Got My Country On”. Jake Owen's Engagement

Sorry girls, Jake Owen is off the market and officially engaged to Lacey Buchanan! Lacey Buchanan is from Winter Park, Florida and she is also a model. I actually know her sister Leah Buchanan who I have hung out with a few times. Jake’s fiancé starred in two of his music videos, “8 Second Ride” and “Barefoot Blue Jean Night”, before they even started dating. She was the really pretty girl that caught your attention! The engagement took place on stage at one of Jake’s concerts on April 7, 2012 in Vero Beach, FL, his hometown. He invited her on stage and popped the question while he was singing his song “Don’t Think I Can’t Love You”. She obviously said YES and the wedding planning can begin for this great couple.  Although I am a little sad that one of my favorite country singer’s is engaged because now I definitely don’t have a shot with him! Haha just kidding. I look forward to hearing more about their wedding and also see Jake Owen’s success continue to rise.

2012 Academy Of Country Music Awards

On Sunday April 1^st, 2012 the Academy of Country Music Awards took place in Las Vegas with host and very popular country singers Reba Mcentire and Blake Shelton. Blake Shelton and his wife Miranda Lambert took home two of the biggest awards of the night, which were Male vocalist of the year and Female vocalist of the year. Miranda Lambert also received the award for Album of the Year for her most recent album “Four the Record”. All together there were 11 awards given throughout the night and went to the most respected recipients. Video of the year went to Toby Keith for his song “Red Solo Cup”. You should definitely watch this humorous video! Song of the year award was given to Eli Young Band for their song “Crazy Girl” and New Artist of the year went to the winner of American Idol Scotty McCreery. Jason Aldean and Kelly Clarkson went home with two awards for their song they sang together “Don’t You Wanna Stay”. These awards were Single Record of the Year and Vocal Event of the Year. The Vocal Group of the Year was Lady Antebellum and Vocal Duo of the Year was Thompson Square. The biggest award of the night was Entertainer of the Year. There were several big artists in the running for this award such as Blake Shelton, Kenny Chesney, Jason Aldean and Taylor Swift. BUT the winner this year of Entertainer of the Year was Taylor Swift and it was no surprise to anyone! She definitely deserved this award for all of her great songs, videos, and amazing concerts she performs. Throughout the night there were amazing performance and plenty of jokes cracked by the Reba and Blake. For next years ACM awards be on the look out for new artist, new groups, new songs, and plenty more great country music!
